Visually Impaired Training Centre in Palayamkottai

Technology based skill training centre was inaugurated at the Higher Secondary School for the Visually impaired, Palayamkottai on 16th May 2023.

Computer training centre for students with visual impairment

This centre is aimed at enhancing the welfare and empowerment of students with visual impairment. This centre was started with ten visually impaired participants for technology training.

Computer training centre for students with visual impairment

Computer Training for Grade 12 Students

Valedictory function of short-term training on computer literacy and distribution of learning devices for 12th grade passed out school students with Visual Impairment at KVF, Guindy.

Forty 12th grade passed out students with visual impairment participated in the training that involved enhancing their abilities in operating basic computer, mobile, English communication, Life skill, personality development and career guidance to pursue their higher education with utmost confidence.

Career Guidance Programme for Students with Visual Impairment

To illustrate the high school graduate students about the diverse career trajectories to choose for planning their higher studies and career. Twenty participants from various backgrounds participated in the programme held at Karna Vidya Technology Centre, Guindy on 28th April, 2023.

Self-Defence Workshop for the Visually Impaired

Around 20 candidates participated in the Self-defence workshop for the Visually Impaired held at Karna Vidya Foundation, Guindy on 26th April 2023. The aim of the workshop was to teach the visually impaired to protect themselves in dangerous situations with the help of self-defence techniques.

One Day Exposure Trip for Students with Visual Impairment

To provide exposure to the visually impaired school students about the History of Mahabalipuram and it’s architecture. Thirty-five visually impaired school students were taken on a one day trip to Mahabalipuram on 8th April, 2023.

Meeting parents of visually impaired students

Meeting the parents of the children who are enrolled at Karna Vidya Foundation, to understand the learning level of the students and to understand the expectations of the parents with regard to the academic development of students. Thirty parents participated in the event conducted at KVF, Guindy centre on 2nd April, 2023 and explained their expectation for their child's academics.

Technology skill training centre, Hosur, for Visually impaired

Technology and skill training centre inaugurated on 1st April, 2023 at Hosur Industries Association, Hosur, Tamilnadu for persons with visual impairment to enable their technical skills in respect to their academic and personal requirements. With ten participants onboard, the centre for the visually impaired is functional since April 1st, 2023.

Employer Meet- Visually Impaired

Purpose of the meet was
To illustrate the capabilities of Visually Impaired in the workplace.
To understand the job roles and create employment opportunities in the workplace.
To discuss the challenges and solutions for certain job roles.

Venue: ISMAT pvt ltd, Bezant street, Perungudi on 13th Feb 2023, 17th Feb 2023 and 23rd Feb 2023

Smart Phone Accessing Workshop for the Visually Impaired

Purpose of the workshop was
To instill confidence to pursue education through mobile device to nurture an independent and accessible learning environment.
Hands on experience was given to the participants on mobile operation with the help of external keyboard and without external keyboard.
Illustrate and demonstrate the mobile Devices and applications for independent mobile operation to carry out academic and personal routines.
Discussed the challenges and provide solution in carrying out academic routines through mobile device.

Venue: The Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Coimbatore.

Orientation and Mobility Workshop for the Visually Impaired

Purpose of the Orientation and Mobility workshop for the visually impaired was to
To instill confidence to pursue education through technology to nurture an independent and accessible learning environment.
Illustrate and Demonstrate the Devices and applications for independent mobility.
Discuss the barrier in mobility and provide appropriate solutions for it.

This workshop was held at The Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Coimbatore on 31st Jan 2023 to 1st Feb 2023 by Mr Sasikumar.
