First of all i thank to kvtc for this job.

When i was in dharmapuri district i searched for many job,but they hesitated to give the job they asked me where i know computer or not i felt very sad i thought that visually challenged people can't work in computer. Oneday my friend kardinamari called me. When i asked for computer course she suggested kvtc she also explained about various courses conducted by this institution for visually challenged people. I was so excited, immediately i joined here on 1/2/2016. When i came here kvtc took care of me they provided me hostel facilities. I learnt here a lot about this screen readers that help visually challenged to work in computer. I also learnt to speak in English, mobility, employability etc. While learning this course kvtc arranged a job opportunity for us. The Scope acknowledge came and conducted interview i got selected. I was very excited went to job on 1 july 2016. When my parents came ti know they were very happy. People in my village are also happy. People give me respect today though i am visually challenged people feel me and inspiration to them. My life is changed totally. I thank kvtc which gave me this best life. Regards, By Dhroupathi

Many the visually challenged can see because of Kvtc. before coming here i don't know anything in computer i was i like roadside plant but now when i entered Kvtc, it  changed me on useful tree This centre provided me hostel facilities. I learnt the six skills which helped me to grow step by step the skills are 1 typewriting, 2 computer, 3 English, 4 Employability, 5 mobility, and communication skill. While studying in Kvtc they arranged a job for us. The Scope e-knowledge and conducted interview. I was very glad when i got selected. I felt very happy when i got first salary. Now my relatives and friends are respecting me they are exclaiming how can i work in and it sector my parents are very happy. Kvtc created a bright future for me the six senses give taste to our food. I have attended banking class, tnpsc course, need based etc. Before i come to kvtc i don't know to go alone anywhere manager Hariharan introduced this centre for me. When i come here i learnt lot, mailing from Raguraman sir, project from sasikumar sir. On 26 may 2016 i got a call from Kvtc regarding this job. I was vary excited and joined in it the very next day both the manager and trainer gave me the project training i was very happy when i got selected. My life style is totally changed by this centre. Relatives and friends is respecting me now my parents are telling proudly about my job i learnt here self confident, self respect, courage ect. So i sincerely to all the members of Kvtc. This centre is really a vision for visually challenged people.

Karna Vidya Foundation jointly with Computer Internet and Society conducted Tech – Fair and Awareness on NVDA at Vidivelli Special School, Trichy in 10th September 2016. Mr. M. Ganesh Kumar, Revenue Divisional Officer, Trichy and Mr. I. Arokiyasamy, Retired Sub – Inspector, Trichy had inaugurated the Tech – Fair and Awareness on NVDA. We had six stalls explaining about Braille and Tactile, Screen Reader (NVDA), SARA and OCR, Android, Tamil OCR and Bookshare and DAISY. Nearly 200 students (both blind and low vision) had participated from St. Joseph’s College, Holy Angels, Aandavan Arts and Science College and nearby places like Tanjore and so on. Article has been published about our Tech Fair and Awareness on NVDA in The Hindu and Local TV Channels (Trichy). Finally, Mr. Arputham, Retired Head Master has given the valedictory address.

Date : 18 11 2016 (Friday) It is a ever green moment in the History of Karna Vidya Foundation that we had a special visitor from Mauritius. On Friday, 18 November 2016 at 10 45 AM Mauritius President her Excellency Ameenah Gurib made an historic visit to Karna Vidya Technology Centre Guindy. She was given a grand and warm reception by the KV Foundation staff and Rotarians from Rotary Club of Madras Coromandel. After an intro by RTN Ravi Sir, the Manager, KVTC gave short introduction about Karna Vidya Foundation and he introduced Chief Trainer, KVTC. Further the Chief trainer explained in brief the activities of Centre followed by demo of different job profiles performed by the Job Based Computer Training Students. One of the Trainees explained the usage of the Screen Reader NVDA and it was followed by a role –Simulation done by other Trainees. Demonstrations on the usage of OCR and Scanning devices were also staged to the dicnitories. After watching all the demos patiently and attentively, the President appreciated all the trainees and applauded the efforts of the Foundation.

KV Tech – Fair 2016 (Karna Vidya Tech – Fair 2016) was inaugurated by Dr. Harish L. Metha, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu. Three schools namely St. Louis School for the blind, Adyar, Government Hr. Secd. School for the blind, Poonammallee and Litter Flower Convent (LFC), Teynampet has participated. 250 visually impaired children had got benefit from the Tech – Fair. Tech – Fair highlighted the Assistive devices that facilitate an accessible and independent learning atmosphere for the visually impaired.

C To C – Campus To Career workshop was inaugurated by Ms. Divyashree, Deputy Collector, Thiruvallur. Final year pursuing UG/ PG visually impaired and job seekers of the visually impaired participated in this two day Career Sensitization Workshop. The objective of this workshop is to sensitize and provide practical hands on experience on different job profiles which is suitable for the visually impaired in IT and IT Enabling Services (ITES).

1. Trainees were trained on corporate environment and social inclusion.
2. Enabled participant to exhibit the inherent potentials with reference to work place.
3. Interaction with real life role models with specific job profiles from private firms.

The third day of the workshop includes:

• Employability skillset and suitable job profiles are explained with examples.
• Provided on experience using Assistive Devices/ Technologies.
• Work Place Solutions are provided to specific work environment.
• Trainees are made to stage on short skit on different job profiles.
• Finally, the valedictory address was given by Mr. Purushothaman, Director, NASSCOM, Chennai and Devadar, IAS, Anand Kumar. Nearly fifty students got participated and gained knowledge about different jobs for the visually impaired.

1. Life skills - Social competencies, overcoming disability, Managing conflicts, Effective work habits etc.
2. Computers - Basic Computer concepts, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
3. Internet – Browsing, Mailing and Data Sourcing
   Assistive Technology/ Devices
4. Miscellaneous concepts - Scanning and Reading, Printing documents, , Physical connections of computer, trouble shooting etc,.
5. Employability/ Job simulation training - Disability specifics, overcome their disability, General employability ethics, work ethics, Introduction to varied job profiles and Role Simulations
